  1. How is it that people still don't understand the difference between freedom of speech and employer discipline? Perfect example of a lack of Constitutional awareness. He should be fired for publicly supporting a civil war, not a complicated issue.
  2. I watched it a few times and he's screwing on the cap for the fireball shot, I don't see any prescription bottle or anything. If you pause it, it does look like gum to me.
  3. Didn't say you did, I said it isn't hard to understand "unless" you watch the rage inducing right wing propaganda sites.
  4. For all the Dem CA hate in this post it makes me laugh that most of you live in this state and it actually produces more jobs and GDP for the economy than all republican states combined in the nation.
  5. We already have laws in place to deport felons, they aren't protected by sanctuary cities. This isn't even hard to understand unless you're just watching right wing propaganda that promotes anger and rage over nonsensical topics. Even the Kate Steinle case involved a criminal who was already deported multiple times FOR BEING A CRIMINAL. Yes keeping people like that from re-entering the country is crucial, but that has nothing to do with sanctuary cities.
  6. The Angel's insurance and the player's salary insurance are most likely two separate things I would think.
  7. Or was he black because he's underappreciated? We're getting somewhere here.
  8. My mom's basement is nicer than your mom's basement.
  9. Luis Rengifo is a career .265/.350/.393 hitter in the minors, and yes he's off to a good start. Cool. I understand the trade market wasn't great, even more reason not to trade him in the first place. BTW if you think what Valbuena does over at 3B is adequate then fine but I don't, and Valbuena could still play 3B even if Cron was on the team so what does that even matter.
  10. No? Well we certainly didn't trade him to acquire anything of value. Valbuena is getting the majority share of playing time behind Albert where Cron would've been playing.
  11. Even at the end of the second quote you can see I was referencing us trading him in favor of Valbuena...and how we should've kept Cron as a bench bat or backup for Albert. Y'all got your hunting pants on today searching for things to call out?
  12. I could but since you already brought it up I feel like it'd be redundant.
  13. How is medical retirement insurance fraud? It happened with Fielder, while uncommon, if a player is forced into retirement due to injury they all have insurance to cover what he would've been owed if he wasn't injured. It's kind of like professional athlete worker's compensation, but the question is does that count against our payroll or not? Not fraud.
  14. My dad hit .176 against us? Not bad for a 70 year old. lol. It's one series Cron is still hitting better than any of our 3 1B.
  15. Did you guys watch the replay closely? Looked like it hit the thicker part of his wrist bone, not his hand, didn't think it was broken from the start. He's day to day.
  16. Ha when I saw the title I thought you'd be talking about his interviews. "Effectively unusual" is a good way to describe his interview style. Poor Alex has to try and get some emotion out of that guy. But ya, he's been really good this year and is a location master, does a great job using his off-speed stuff and location to make his fastball look like it's 96.
  17. Ha hilarious, I told my Dad the exact same thing before the game last night. I KNEW Cron would make us look bad, because we gave up on him in favor of freaking Valbuena. At WORST we should've kept Cron as a bench bat and back up for when Pujols gets injured or starts to embarrass himself like he currently is. Then again, that's a fantasy, since Scioscia still won't take him out of the 4 spot.
  18. Agreed, if it's a medical retirement doesn't the insurance company cover the payroll and we drop it off our team salary that goes towards the cap? Best case scenario for the Angels.
  19. I think this is a two birds one stone situation. Upton is day-to-day, thank goodness, an inch higher and it breaks his hand, looks like it mainly hit the thick wrist bone. So Herm can replace him for the short term. If Herm makes an instant impact, he can replace Kole or maybe platoon with Kole. Either way, this is the perfect time to give him a chance to impress. We need Upton but at least it's a little exciting to see if our prospect can produce.
  20. I was wondering the same thing, I'm guessing the inflammation was due to the damage and maybe they couldn't see it because it was so inflamed? Needed a specialist to identify the tear? Either way, just a sad thing for Keynan, hope he comes back and makes his money these guys count on their health for their careers and something like this can end it. Luckily, today TJ surgery is so common it's expected that they'll come back at 100%. Get better Keynan!
  21. He definitely had a bad game, but he was pitching well before last night. You could say the same for Anderson a little while ago, looked amazing day after day then had 1 bad game and now his stats look like garbage. That's the life of a bullpen pitcher, small amounts of innings, large amounts of appearances. I still don't mind having him pitch the 6th or 7th when we need him, and the trade was helpful to the team when we acquired int'l money to sign Ohtani. Works for me.
  22. Great point, we've also been facing some of the best pitchers on those teams. I think I read tonight against Archer will be the 4th All Star SP against us in a row? I agree I like where we are but we could use a legitimate closer in trade. Hopefully Scioscia can manage the bullpen until closer to the trading deadline and Eppler can snag someone. Our odds look good for a playoff shot this year!
