Smith is doing well. So far. In three or so weeks when Lucroy comes back they probably will be a serviceable pair to ride out this season. . 

This acquisition looks like it's for short term depth with a low risk gamble he shows some potential. Hanging around the minors for so long makes one dubious about his talent, but certainly worth some cash. You can never have enough catchers available due to injury risk and wear and tear.

Just after I graduated from Tustin HS, they played Villa Park HS in football.   Villa Park had a RB whose last name was...wait for it......BenBen.

That's the full name, thanks.   I remembered being at that Tustin HS HC game (October 1974) during my first year at LB State, and it seemed that BenBen ran wild on the Tustin HS defense the whole game.  Final score was something like 34-9 in favor of Villa Park HS.
