The interesting thing is that the stats would have argued that was the thing to do....   In playing him regardless of the numbers Ausmus has gone against the sabermetrics.

Contrary to popular opinion Scioscia played Ohtani against left handers down the stretch and Ohtani hit them well.  Therefore it wasn't a suprise to me that they decided to play Ohtani full time.

What I find humorous is that earlier this season people argued how bad Ohtani was against left handers.  Some even said that Ohtani is bailing out ever since he got hit in the hand.
