Idk he was starting to collapse last year too.... I'd rather just pull a St Louis Cardinals and have Canning close for us before he starts next year, kind of like they did with Wainwright

No need for Kimbrel. Middleton and Ramirez are just around the corner.  Between Buttrey and Middleton, they can compete for closer role.  Though Buttrey should have the head start and put there now.  Will be interesting to see what Angels decide to do with JC Ramirez, pen or starter.  He could potentially vie for high leverage bullpen situations.
