Mike Trout Hits For The Cycle

That homer he hit on the last at bat was ridiculous.

It seems like he was completely zoned in and wanted to hit one out.

He golfed one out to the opposite center through the marine layer and everything.

Incredible hit! The ball was low and slightly outside. It's like he was looking for it to be there.

Langston called it on the radio. He said Trout would get something good to hit and should let it rip on the 2-0 count.

I heard that too.  However, Trout did not get something good to hit.  That HR was hit off a pitch low and away.  It was definitely a pitchers pitch Trout hit out.

Trout is a stud...hats off to him.  Hit for the cycle, incredible!

For all of the fans that were calling him Stout Trout, Fat Trout, etc, during Spring Training and at the beginning of the season should feel some big time shame right now.

He is a future hall of famer, no doubt.  Trout is the man!

Found this little tidbit:

Since RBI became official in 1920, only two other players have hit for the cycle in a game where they also drove in five or more runs AND stole at least one base. And it's been more than 80 years. Before Mike Trout tonight, those other two players were Tony Lazzeri of the Yankees (vs Athletics, June 3, 1932) and Babe Herman of the Dodgers (vs Reds, May 18, 1931).

The Lazzeri cycle is the only one in baseball history that was a natural cycle (single, double, triple, and home run in that order) that ended with a grand slam.

Ironically, it was overshadowed at the time because Lou Gehrig hit FOUR home runs in that game, becoming the first player in the modern era to do that.

I do not feel any shame.

Amazing game from Trout; Congrats on a HUGE step toward some place in up-state NY...

That's why these trinket-nights are so appealing.  The players feel the need to show they're worthy of a bobble head or pint glass (I wonder if we can take them back, and have the Angels add the cycle line to it?)

Hamilton had a pretty good night too... They were talking about him hitting for the cycle after he got his triple and hr early!  But then Trout stole the show.

Keep rollin, boys!
