i really dont like how they appear to have given up.  people pay to see this, if this is what angels baseball is right now then at least finish the season hard.  There will be time enough for golf and such in a couple weeks. 
Trout is the only one that seem to give a rats, and yes kids that will affect his decisions.

I really don't think any of the AAA guys are mailing it in, they want a spot on the 25 next season. 

Calhoun sucks ass. Let's be honest, he came back from his vacation with a new swing and plate approach and after a month of success he went back to his old habits thinking he's a power hitter. As leadoff he is a complete diaaster, last night he went 0-5.

The pitchers are all past their innings limits. Skaggs, Heaney, Barria, they are our starting pitching staff and Skaggs has been MIA. Quietly Pena has starting 16 games but he hasn't pitched all that many more innings than Noe in relief.

Let that sink in. 

The relief pitchers are posting more innings than the starters.

It's not giving up, it's just the end of a very long year. Scisocia is committed to giving the kids playing time and you are seeing most are not ready for this. 

It is what it is but not for lack of trying. Talent yes, not trying.

Great post. Great, great post. IMO, this is exactly what's going on. 

And we are playing GOOD teams with more talent than us. Teams that have an even greater motivation by virtue of the standings. The A's and Astros could still swap places. The A's and Yankees could still swap places. That's added motivation beyond doing your job, to the best of your ability.

We need more talent.

Talent is slow to grow, but it can also be bought. Hopefully, we are buyers this off season. We dont have the depth anywhere, to trade our way out of this. Well, except for three players. But it is blasphemy to discuss it here. 

Keep the slow to grow in play, fer chrissakes. We finally have the inklings of a farm. Let those shoots grow in our own backyard. 

Go out and get some talent, Arte. You can afford this. It's considered one of the greatest FA classes of all time. Take advantage of it. 

The first step is confronting Trout about an extension and gauge his willingness to stay. It would be very unfortunate to pass this FA class by, while reserving the cash for an extension.............only for him to decide that he just wants to play closer to home. Figure this out NOW.
