Here is how it could realisticly happen:

Mystery team's GM gets to kick Eppler in the balls with steel boots, they get Valbuena + Angels send enough cash so the other teams is only on the hook for 1% of his salary.

The Angels get: a player to be named later who hits .050/0.50/.050 & membership in the jelly of the month club.

What a strange season for the Rays. An 8 game winning streak, TWO 8 game losing streaks, a 6 game winning streak, a 5 game losing streak and TWO 5 game winning streaks. Add it all up and they are one game under .500.
