41-40 halfway point

Baseball struggles with the length of the season but is somewhat historically trapped into keeping the season at 162.  I suppose going to 154 would be ok but that doesn't really solve the problem of fans losing interest  in June "until next year" when their team is 12 games out.

How much MORE interested in this season would you be if mlb had a first and second half winner and the Angels could be starting their quest today in winning the second half?

At this point I don't see any good reason not to have a 1st and 2nd half.

More fans of more teams interested in more games. . .

I can say one thing for sure, the Angels are consistently inconsistent. At least they have that going for them.

If so what happens when a team like the Astros wins both, do they just chill and get a bye.

Not even close if you were a fan in the 60s or early 90s, which I was.

You can't win games with Robles, Jewell, Pena, Lamb, Paredes, et al

As soon as the rotation is able to each put in at least 150-160 innings, the lineup doesn't have 5 holes in it, and the bullpen has real late innings guys,  which all might happen in 2019 but more likely in 2020, then they will have a true post-season caliber team going forward.

41-40, half way to 82-80.  Mike Scioscia’s first year was 82-80 in 2000.  Scioscia has come full circle.  Final season confirmed.

I still see one hot streak or one hot month happening this season.
