No it wasn’t.  It worked because the runner slowed down coming from 3rd, but if he touches the plate before Ohtani tags him, he is safe.  But if he throws to first and gets the force out it doesn’t matter when the guy touches home plate

Upton isn’t hitting, his fielding is erratic, and he’s made some base-running mistakes recently. Other than that, what’s not to like?
