Where is Kaleb Cowart?

There's not a whole lot more he needs to prove in the minors.

I would disagree with that as he (Cowart) had a couple of really bad years with the bat in the minors and in 8 minor league seasons he hit .257.

In parts of 3 ML seasons he's hitting .197.

Unfortunately Cowart is a good field no hit player.

He had a lot of promise but just wasn't able to produce.

Maybe he's one of the PTNBL for Morris or Almonte, but his new parent club doesn't have a spot open at the time and they agreed to hold off completing?

Could be. He is from Georgia too.

I think it would be great if they turned him back to a pitcher.

That's my hope - he stayed behind in AZ and is going the Brett Eibner/Anthony Gose route.

Even if he just becomes the 7th RP/UT IF he'd have value on most benches.

Yep, the Angels front office was inspired by Ohtani and they are going to try to see if Kaleb can be a reliever and still start in the field...

That way, when he's recalled, he can be mediocre at both hitting and pitching at the MLB level ;)

Broken bone in his foot from a minor league spring training game a couple weeks ago.

This makes sense, as even though Marte was hot with the bat, I thought it was Cowart's job, because his lefty infield bat off the bench made more sense to me than another corner infielder (As Valbuena is already on the roster, even though he's a quasi-starter, he wouldn't start if the best 9 were all starting, so...). And then even when Kinsler went down they went with Fontana instead of Cowart.
