Eppler quietly going about acquiring minor depth with upside. We even somehow ended up with like...5 guys in the high minors who have the talent to make the majors if they tweak their swing. Its like the clean peanut strategy, but with someone who knows how to pick peanuts.

So arguably by adding Contreras and Blash and Liriano, he's cancelled out, or come out ahead, of what we gave up for Kinsler. 

Carter profiles as a Marte replacement if we lose him to waivers too. Eppler has done a great job of minimizing the impact of whomever we lose in transactions.

looks like he was 41st on BR's intl rankings from 2016.

I assumed that when they said he was "fearless", that meant he wasn't afraid to plunk batters...

On the plus side, he hasn't really killed anyone. 

But that 10 BB/9 and WHIP over "2" doesn't really have me thinking "Mortal Lock for the All-Star team"  either ...

apparently they got him for free.  High upside project.  Fringe top 30 for us.  

We're gonna have to make a top 40 next year.  Some in the 31-40 range are interesting.
