Chase Headley would be a pointless move in my book. He'll probably get on base at the same clip as Valbuena except hit for less power and give you similar defense.

You're better off not sacrificing any prospects and bringing back Yunel Escobar to platoon with Valbuena at 3B.

Lol, we aren't getting Machado.  He's going to the highest bidder in the offseason.  Moreover, we just signed two left-sided IF prospects (Maitan, Soto) who will ideally be ready in about 4 years or so.  Machado, if we trade for him and miraculously sign/extend him, would be here for probably 8+ years.

There are no impact bats up for grabs at 3rd unless you want to decimate the minor leagues for 2 years of Machado. 

 

I mean if there is any player worth blowing up the farm for it would be him.. but still. We better be confident we can beat houston
