Doesn't make much sense to trade for him unless San Diego eats some of his contract... He is set to make 13 million in 2018, and with a few more million we could easily get a better third baseman.

Calm your tits folks, Headley could simply be replacing Cron's place on the roster and giving us flexibility and insurance. And if this is the extent of our everyday lineup, then it means Eppler has resources left for upgrades on the pitching staff.

Another negative about Headley is the lack of versatility. Played one game of second base last year but before that he hadn't played anything besides 1st or third since 2009.

Headley would slot in nicely in the 2 spot. .352 OBP last year.

Power wise?  Probably not.  But he doesn't have to do much to out perform Valbuena in every other category.  Not to mention, Ohtani will be given every chance possible to succeed.  He won't be sitting on the bench for someone like Valbuena.
