Above average not a star is still a boon to our system. And like Fletcher just pointed out, we didnt overspend. So either way, this is a good move. Still want to see the big club get some help now.

I like the signing. Worth the risk for Angel Farm that needs more prospects. MLB network just said he gets to keep both bonuses.

I agree. He's young hes raw and hes obviously got stuff you cant teach which is size. I think he can put it all together but when I look at him I don't see the players hes being compared to. Time will tell. I still think the price they paid is great.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't see anyone saying "bad signing." I think it was a very good signing and I'm glad it happened. I just think there is reason to be cautious in terms of projecting him as the next Miggy Cabrera or Chipper Jones.

I'd put Maitan behind Jones and Marsh as well, maybe Barria, but ahead of everyone else.

Something I don't think has been mentioned: Maitan made an extra $2.2M off Atlanta's illegal activities. He keeps the $4.5M signing from Atlanta, then adds the $2.2M from the Angels.

May I assume that if Ohtahni selects a team other than Angels then the money they secured for Ohtahni can be used for Maitan?
