Angels 2017 Draft (& Undrafted) Signings

With this year's draft class being so thin, it seems we will have come out of it about as good as we could have possibly done.

Adell, Canning, and Pearson are about as good as any org could have done in the first 3 rounds. I'll admit I haven't dug too deep on picks after that yet, but it seems like they focused on fairly safe, signable arms.

Last year the Angels went $304,100.00 over allotment. There's still hope to sign #5 Booker.

Last year the Angels went over by the maximum allowed without losing a draft pick. I expect them to do the same this year.

Traver, Mitchell, Gurwitz and Walsh might be the only guys left that they sign. All are college seniors. If they do sign , that would be 26 out of 40. I doubt they sign more than 30.

Yes, but slot is 346k, the  Angels are already over allotment and he seems nonplussed by slot $$ by his comments about going to college to get a better payday.  I hope it happens (under slot and allotment) but his not signing allows a few others in the door.

If Jacob Pearson is now signed, would love to see him in Orem as he seems ready for it. On the the other hand, they don't have a lot of room with Marsh, Todd, Vega, and Hunter Jr. Maybe he starts in AZL and if one of those four graduates to Burlington, Pearson moves to Orem.

I suspect that juniors Keith Rogalla & Cobi Johnson will want more than $125,000 to sign, plus others not reported, thus impacting available money.

Thanks for the updates @John Smith and @Dochalo.

Hopefully they can work out a deal with Booker and then sign a couple of these later HS picks. Seems like a good draft on paper so far.
