#Angels have acquired RHP Damien Magnifico from Baltimore for minor league RHP Jordan Kipper. Magnifico has been optioned to @SaltLakeBees.

Angels made a trade. Jordan Kipper had a 1.74 ERA at AA, but was not that projectable. Magnifico has career 3.82 in minors.

So other than the plus velocity (95+ mph) he tosses his slider at 2800 rpm (which I suspect is pretty high for a slider). It will be interesting to see how this pans out but he seems like middle relief help with a touch of upside.

EDIT: Also I forgot to mention he carries a high GB%

Throwing 2800+ RPM on his slider is definitely impressive, but after working with Trackman for a bit, Fullerton and Stanford has a guy that can that. Colton Eastman and Colton Hock, respectively @ettin @Jay

Sounds like a novelty act. If he gets hot and earns a promotion, we can see him as "The Great Magnifico." He should probably change his name to that.
