Chicago just didn't make any sense.  Where that area around USC does make sense.  Really SF and LA should have been the only options.

This has been going on for a decade.

SF has denied him already after he chose the city.  He wanted it in the presidio on the water, no way would that fly.

Then he went to Chicago, and they denied him as well.

Now came back to try one last time here vs LA. 

This time they tried to put it on treasure island - a man-made island which will melt in an earthquake. 

Would have been interesting, the design is pretty wild. But doesn't surprise me it ended up in LA.

Good news fellow SW fans...Trailer for The Last Jedi likely to drop this Friday at SWC during the panel for the movie. Looking forward to seeing Luke do something in this one.

Day 1 of celebration.

The 40 years panel was pretty awesome featuring members of the original and prequel trilogy and ended with a nice tribute to the late Carrie Fisher presented by her daughter Billie Lourd.
