Downing and edmonds would be starters i think. Grich at 2B. Decinces might get the nod over glaus at 3B

Off the top of my head for pitchers, ryan finley and weaver.

Can't believe I forgot Downing and Fregosi. Doh!

I think Salmon has to get the nod over Edmonds because I don't think you can count what Edmonds did in St. Louis. Of course we haven't exactly defined rules here. Guerrero would have to be in RF.

That's the best lineup if you can't use the same player more than once.  Otherwise, Trout would own all 3 OF spots or if you have to have the guy playing the position they played that season.  If not, I might swap out Figgies' 2009 for Grich and put Chone at 2b.  Or you could put Glaus 2000 at DH and Figgy or DeCinces 1982 at 3b.  If the lineup stays as above, I'd have the following bench:

Figgy 2009 - 6.5 WAR

Howie 2011 - 5.3 WAR

Edmonds 1995 - 5.3 WAR

Parish 1990 - 4.6 WAR

Ocab 2007 - 4.8 WAR

My rotation would be

Ryan 1973 - 2.87 era, 383k

Chance 1964 - 1.65 era

Tanana 1976 - 2.43 era,

Finley 1990 - 2.40 era

Weaver 2011 - 2.41 era

Pen

Krod 2004 - 1.82 era 13.18 k/9

Harvey 1991 - 1.60 era

Percy 1995 - 1.95 era

Donnelley 2003 - 1.58 era

Shields 2005 - 2.75 era

Bob Lee 1964 - 1.51 era in 137 ip with 111k

Chance i dunno...yeah, cy young, but off the top of my head, never really a dominant year after. Then wed have to argue for colon.

And as much as i like witt, id probably put lackey over both...chance was a cy young, but before my time so i cant gauge. But again, unless i remember wrong, i dont know he ever repeated that success. Lackey was the frontman of a very good rotation here for a long time.

Its crazy to look at erstads 2000 and see that its below 9 WAR...salmon and vlads years listed having a 5 war is crazy too...but i would think erstads 2000 would be way, way higher. Insane offense, and he was a beast on defense.  Juiced era skews it

Downing played LF in 1982. I loved that team. I updated their stats every time I got a boxscore (no internet back then).

I put Garret in left because he played that position and isn't he the all-time leader in half our offensive categories? Not to mention his three-run double in Game Seven.

I knew Fregosi would be in there, just didn't know what position he played (started following the team in 78). I like Carew at first and Grich at second. DeCinces was a beast in 82 but so was Glaus in a couple seasons.

Salmon was my all-time favorite Angel until Trout came along. I wanted to put him in the outfield but Vlad was better and honestly, so was Garret, probably. Garret was the silent assassin.
