Cron was always very likely to make the majors, it was a bigger question as to whether he would be very good when he got there. I think that's where part of the Thaiss comparison comes from. It's pretty likely he will make the MLB at some point, he is an advanced bat who will probably progress through the minors pretty quickly. But getting to the majors and being a useful 1B/DH once you get there are very different things.
