Dodgers gonna run away with the NL pennant

id say the Nats but their manager is Baker

Dumbsty and a weak pen are a bad combo. He makes Scioscia look like a genius. But if they get some bullpen help they will be real dangerous. Their lineup is pretty fearsome with the bats.

Royals back to .500 and 2.5 out of NL central

they might not have the fire sale everyone thinks they're gonna have

It's like the whole AL is around .500. Whoever says uncle first and lets go of their tradeable pieces is going to get the best return.

Yankees rookie Dustin Fowler, in his first major league game, suffers a horrible knee injury in the first inning and is rushed to the hospital for surgery. Season over, and who knows how this will affect him.

The wet grass may have contributed. Why did the umpires wait three hours and start this game after 10 pm local time?!

That's terrible.

I kept wondering why they weren't postponing this game when it was getting so late back there. It wasn't like it was an interleague game that would be tough to reschedule. The umpires and MLB have been especially inept this season.

I hadn't realized how good a record the rockies had / how mediocre the other NL teams were.  They've lost 8 in a row yet still have a 6 game cushion for the second wild card spot

The Rockies are for real, don't let the losing streak fool you. Bud has a real good team there.

There scuffling a bit but they're working on a few things. They will be back where they need to be soon.

Sounds like when Mantle seriously injured an ankle after stepping on a sprinkler head during his rookie season in the 1951 WS at old Skankee Stadium.

Girardi was near tears and thinks Fowler smashed his knee into an electrical box attached to the low wall at Cellular.

The kid went went full speed into the stands after a foul ball. Not sure about the wisdom of that, but he was undoubtedly excited playing his first big league game. He was due to bat in the next half-inning. I hope he can recover and get back to the majors at some point.
