Rory has been pretty disappointing this season. He isn't playing with much fire at all.

Watched Phil and Henrick today and that's fire. Rory seems to have become a little soft.

fwiw it's worth, he finished 5th. shot a 67 today.

What a great duel today.  Crazy how much better Mickeltits and Stenson played this course than everyone else.  I think the gap between 2nd and 3rd was 6 shots.  Stenson shoots a 63 with a great birdie putt to finish the tournament.  Best major of the year as a fan.  Usually it is Augusta.

it's like the two of them were playing a different course. pretty much any other tournament our there if you shoot a 65 on the final day after entering the day one shot behind, you're going to win. phil ends up losing by 3 because stenson just couldn't miss. you realize henrik had 10 birdies today? who does that?

fun day to watch, that's for sure.

tiger withdrew from the PGA championship today. also announced he won't play at all this season (only 3 events left and then next season begins in october). says he just can't seem to get his back loose enough. there simply is no timetable for competition at this point.

Nike is getting out of the Golf club, golf ball and golf bag business.  Just going to make apparel and shoes.  Crazy.  I guess that is what happens when Tiger is no longer playing.

interesting. is rory still on the nike team? not sure i can recall seeing too many nike drivers on the tee in recent tournaments.

nike has just gotten into the manufacture of balls and clubs when Tiger hit that ridiculous chip shot at 16 at the masters to win. before dropping in the cup, the ball just paused a moment, and the nike logo was visible. one commentator said that was the best free advertising nike could have ever wanted.

a few years ago i bought a sleeve of nike balls to see what they were like. they were crap and i couldn't wait to have adam break into my garage and steal them get rid of them

Lol, yeah.  I tried out some Nike clubs once and they were really terrible too.  I always assume Rory and Tiger were just using Pro V1s that had a Nike logo stamped on them.

Finally, Nike will quit ruining promising golf careers.

Oh and on a golf note.  I must be getting old.  Did a bit of yardwork in the morning.  Walked 18.  By about the 14th, I just totally hit a wall.  I just couldn't feel the golf club anymore.  Started topping and shanking the ball like Nate on a good day.  I've never had that happen on the course before.

well, if you had played on a course that offered INO at the turn, you'd have had all the energy you needed and then some. if you couldn't get INO there, you need to put that course on your black list.
