Yeah, they gave a specific reason for not delivering Miranda, and it had nothing to do with his health status.

Ya they are using the public safety exception which allows a narrow line of questioning outside of miranda. At some point he will be mirandize though. All of that, including the pre-miranda questioning will not llikely take place while he's critical

There is some sort of public safety clause that I believe comes from the Patriot Act that allows them to detain someone without miranda rights.
