I was fortunate to grow up in the 90's were DiscMan was an affordable piece of electronic equipment, and I got one for Christmas. I was so happy to be riding my bike to school, listening to CD's, having the ability to just hit "skip" and go to the next track. Really, there was nothing like it.

 

And then "anti-skip" came along and it almost brought me to tears.

Remember when two tape boom boxes came out, and now you could record your buddies tape to your blank one...but you only had one, and it was a 60 minute not a 90 minute one, and you had to pick and choose what songs to tape over? And sitting by the radio for a specific song, taping it, and forever not having the beginning of the song and the end of it fading into a different shitty song?

Or was i just ghetto?

i remember sitting with my little tape recorder in front of the tv recording the big concert in ontario (i think) called california jam. listened to that tape again and again and again.
