I guess he can block trades to 20 teams and there are only 9 teams he can be traded to.

So he chose teams that already have 1B/DH and/or don't have payroll to pick him up. Butera for Howard if they eat 90% of the salary

That's the point of the ntc. It's a strategy to make sure he gets the most out of his deal. A lot of players will waive their ntc for certain guarantees like options being picked up, extensions, ect. Teams like the rays are on there are by design.

I think he just recently designated those teams. Maybe he gets to pick new teams each season or his no trade just kicked in. It's in the news today all over the place is why I'm thinking it's not an old list.

Nobody is crying out to get Howard but cmon really? Never worth a damn? Look at his 2006 stats. 58 bombs, .425 OBP, 1.084 OPS!

True. He definitely had a great season in 2006, but he's not the superstar he thinks he is. His entire career is underwhelming aside for his ability to hit HRs.

From 2006-2011 he avg 43.6 HR and 132 RBI, I'd say that's super star numbers.

He hits a lot of HRs, but he's a one trick pony. Look at his WAR from 2006-2011 and compare them to Chase Utley's.
