Shoemaker Finishes Second to Abreu in American League ROY Award

Jose Abreu got all 30 first place votes to win the American League ROY Award.  Shoemaker received 12 second place votes, and 4 third place votes.  (Per the MLB channel).

he didn't have any real chance of beating out abreau, but his finishing second is a testament to how great his season was. one of the greatest seasons ever for an undrafted player.

Finishing second is a great accomplishment. There was no way in hell Abreu wasn't winning this year. Abreu had an incredible season, so there is no shame to being first loser to him.

The great news is that because he pitched between 161 and 184 innings over the past 4 pro seasons, including 136 at the MLB level in 2014, he should be able to approach 200 innings in 2015.
