Hopefully he's left off the playoff roster. I know he's the only LH reliever on the team, but he's been a guaranteed 1-2 runs almost every time he's pitched.

I have not been impressed with his performance at all -- so his name would not be on any post-season roster I'd suggest.

 

but as the only LHP, we'll see -- of course, Scioscia has never been a big fan of the situational lefty stuff --

I'm glad he's been failing. Scioscia was just looking for a couple of clean innings as an excuse to put him on the playoff roster.

What a total nothing trade only to satisfy the need of having a lefty in the pen.

It would seem two guys saw their final playing time as an Angel today...McDonald had a good ending, Thatcher sure as hell didn't.

 

Assuming Shoemaker is healthy, we have Santiago out of the 'pen. And if he's not, I'd prefer LeBlanc anyway. Or even no lefty. Thatcher is probably the least deserving of a spot of anyone on the expanded roster.

Watching Thatcher pitch is a form of punishment.  I am not sure what I did wrong.

Joe Thatcher's Halo career includes more hit batters than Ks.  He faced 32 batters and hit 2.  guess how many k's he had.

Any way I add it up, Thatcher being on the post season roster just doesn't make any sense.  Everyone on the roster will likely be used and must be kept for a specific purpose.  Thatcher's not a part of our setup crew, he doesn't add any length in blowouts.  Theoretically, you'd say he'd get lefties out, but he hasn't proven that thus far. 

 

His main competition in LeBlanc and while LeBlanc won't really get any lefties out either, he does add needed depth.
