I do agree that Bruce could make a counter move when he sees guys like Getzlaf playing like crap. He moved Kesler up with Perry and Maroon for a while. At this point though, it is what it is. No one really wants it out there. Only so much you can do when your team doesn't have anywhere near the intensity of the opponent.

I don't think so. The Ducks are the Clippers of hockey. Their core has proven that they cannot win big games. The best course of action is to completely rebuild.

Two changes make the Ducks a better team next  year.  First, Gibson is your man.  Andersen has done his job, but he is at best just above average.  Gibson can match that and hopefully be better.  Gotta give him that chance.

 

Second is you need a top D man.  Beauch has been a great Duck but two years in a row he has struggled like this.

 

Combined with the extra experience of the young players on this team and the Ducks can be right back here next year.

Hard to disagree with any of that. It's clear as anything Beauch isn't close to being a top D-man anymore.

I disagree with 1.

 

#2.  Was that Bruce's biggest mistake?  someone hasn't played all playoffs.  And really, if Beauch is gone next season, that player is probably the #1 dman.  not goalie..
