Marlins to the rescue!

Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that the Marlins are interested in free agent outfielder Vernon Wells.
Wells is one of the names the Marlins are considering as they attempt to secure a right-handed bench bat. The 35-year-old was released by the Yankees earlier this month after he hit just .233/.282/.349 with 11 homers over 130 games last year. He could be had at the major league minimum, but might have to settle for a minor league offer at this point of his career. Jan 24 - 12:20 AM

Apparently Miami is where ex-Angels land when they can't hit anymore (or never could). Jeff Mathis, Chone Figgins and now Vernon Wells.

I'm sure he's too blessed to stress about whether his money from the Marlins is guaranteed.

If Vernon can't even manage to be picked up by a Major League Team because of how much he sucks, and his only option left is to settle for a minor league offer just to continue getting his million dollar checks, the teams shouldn't be required to continue to pay him like a Major Leaguer.

Vernon Wells you are freakin' pathetic.

You're going to be the one crying in your beer when the Baseball Hall of Fame opens their long awaited Legends of Infield Popups section, and all of us cash in our mega-collections of Wells memorabilia for big bucks.

It just occurred to me that people presumably bought Angels' Vernon Wells jerseys and I don't whether to be happy or sad.
