Scioscia Angel Talk recap

Recommended Posts

He wants pitching as in he wants another starter or another reliever?

I'd be curious to know.

At one point he said that if a team has 12 SPs, they'd want 13..  If they have 13 then he'd like to have 14.   He basically argued that you cannot have enough SP, and that the more you the more options you have for the entire staff.

"We wanna take a look at some things, get guys to where they need to be. The season is a marathon and not a sprint. We'll have an idea of where we are at after a couple of months into the season.."

Terry Smith seemed to be a little off his game last night.  They had Bobby Grich on after Scioscia, and Terry's first question to Grich was "what was it like facing Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine."  Grich retired in 1986, when Maddux was 20 years old and had just debuted (in the NL), and Glavine didn't debut until the next year...
