Probably impossible to tell for sure but I said at the time, Mattingly's decision to run Kershaw out on 3 days rest in the NLDS could come back to bite them down the road. Tonight ended up being one of the worst starts of his career just two outings later...

This is a wee interesting:  I am 'watching' the game on mlb.com with the little cartoon figures and pitch placement, etc.  A little pop-up warned that Kershaw BAA is something like .150...until the 3rd inning when it goes up to .239 or something like that.

 

Not an amazing average, but it shows that the 3rd is when the feces can hit the fan for Kershaw.  Sounds like Puig didn't help matters.

I've attended a few Cardinal games - those fans are the best in baseball IMO.  Next to the Yankees they have won the most WS.
