Why is he even starting? Best case is he becomes a decent middle reliever. I don't see him ever being a quality starting pitcher again.

At this point, why not look into becoming a closer? A one inning stint is within reason for a guy who stinks as a starter.

Signing Dontrelle Willis to a minor league contract and seeing if he had anything left by pitching him at AAA was zero risk move. Turns out he doesn't have anything left, but there is no harm in having a player with a professional attitude, one that works hard, is a positive influence on teammates, and at one time was big time Major League player in the system.

He gives GREAT interviews, and his delivery is pretty fun to look at.  Its a shame he just doesnt get it done

I still like the guy as a potential lefty reliever if he's used right.  Oliver Perez made the transition while he was in the minors.  I'd like to see the Angels slot him in the pen in AAA and see what he makes of one inning outings.

You know - he's coming in relief in a division winning game for the Bees and after pitching each inning he stands by the dugout and hi-fives every position player as they come in. I don't care what anyone says - he is a class act.

I've always liked Willis as a person, good teammate.

Maybe he can adapt to relieving, but his days as a starter are over.
