James Bond Films Rated

Recommended Posts

Out of the 24 films (counting Never Say Never Again, but not the Niven film) name your top five.

I created a rubric for myself from 1 to 5 to get my favorites in order. It consists of 5 parts: action, theme song, girls, plot, and chemistry or "je ne sais quoi," something that stands out or makes the film particularly memorable for you.

When I finished, my results were from lowest to highest: Octopussy, Casino Royale, From Russia With Love, GoldenEye, and number one for me, Diamonds Are Forever.

I get the feeling many results will be much different from mine.

I have the boxed set and need to watch the older ones again to have a decent entry as I mix them up from when I was a kid....mainly the Sean Connery ones.

Really hard to top Casino Royale based on plot and story.

I can't say I have theme song and Bond girls in my criteria though.

i first started watching when roger moore was 007, so i haven't seen very many of the sean connery ones. timothy dalton was absolutely forgettable as bond, though the second one he did introduced us all to talisa soto (thank you!). pierce brosnan was good but i think i like daniel craig best of them all.

1. casino royale (eva green and a brief appearance by stana katic [Castle] at the end)

2. the one with the north korean dude who turned himself into a white guy, and where we got to see plenty of halle berry

3. never say never again

4. golden eye (the chick in that one was incredible)

5. all the rest of them are pretty much the same

quantum of solace was intriguing as it continued a story, something that i think was new for the franchise.

Dr. No-  The original.  I love it for the un-intended campy-ness.  Plus, I never get tired of watching Ursula scamper around in her bikini.

Goldfinger-  Same type of movie, little better story

Moonraker-  I like the shuttles, before there were shuttles.

You Only Live Twice/Diamonds Are Forever/Live and Let Dive-  Bad guy in a volcano!  And these three were very similar.

The Spy Who Loved Me-  Set on the water, just like a lot of my own adventures.

Skyfall/new Casino Royale-  I really like the new Bond flicks!  Daniel Craig has brought some depth to the character, and the plots are better.

I love that one!

I may be in the minority, but I am a big fan of the Roger Moore James Bond movies. I especially like The Man With the Golden Gun. The scenery in the small Chinese islands is incredible.

The Man With the Golden Gun is one of the more underrated Bond movies. I usually like the ones in tropical locations and get bored by the ones in snowy places. Not really a fan of Moore though. I'd say Connery is definitely the best with Craig 2nd and the others were hit and miss.

Just to modernize it. In the book he plays baccarat, I believe.

He also played baccarat in the old movies every time he goes into a casino.
