This season blows. This organizations seems like a mess and we are stuck with a couple awful contracts. I believe Dipoto will give us hope in the offseason, but until then let's ruin some seasons. Lets keep the Rangers and Yankees out of the playoffs. That's something I could be happy about

I've finally accepted that we're not going to be a part of the wild card hunt. Today was pretty much the last gasp.

Four teams are within 4.5 games of the second WC spot. We can still have something to say about the race, though.

7 games vs Tampa Bay

7 vs Cleveland

4 vs the Yankees, next week. We could really hurt them with a good series.

Plus the ten games against Texas and 6 against Oakland. They're both vying for the division, and depending on how this develops in September, it might happen that one of these two gets locked out of the playoffs entirely. I'd love it for the Angels to play the spoiler here in the last week of the season.

we might be able to spoil the Rangers from winning the division (say, by shuffling around the rotation so as to start Blanton, Hanson, Richards/Williams in our next series against the A's ;) ), we won't keep them out of the playoffs.

Problem is in september both the Rangers and A's finish their season with the vast majority of their games against the Angels, Mariners, and Astros. Second place in the AL West will land a wild card spot for sure.
