I live 0.4 miles from work now (just moved). I'll probably be putting in $15 every two weeks. I hate spending more than that at one time for gas.

I live three feet from work.  Yesterday was the last time but before that I was driving out to Valencia once a week.  Still I rarely filled my car up before.

About $40 to fill my 1995 Saturn. I use the 87 octane since I consider my daily driver disposable.

Paid $800 2 years ago and have put about 70K on it so far (195K total). Consistent 28/36 MPG.

Bought it to replace the 1994 Saturn I bought for $2000 in 2002 with 100K on it and ran it into the ground with another 400K plus. R.I.P.

Disposable cars with solid MPG more than pay for themselves. I did the brakes twice on the 94, and went through 7 sets of tires. Change the oil every 3000 miles and your horse will love you back.

Yeah, I just moved my data company down the street from my real estate office to which I live less than 100 yards. Saving gas is swell

i use 91 as well, i think it takes $60 or so to fill up.

i drive 40 miles from SF to Palo Alto most days.

 

but i made it a habit when i got my first car - there is little point to even look at or pay attention to gas prices.

its definitely a racket though.
