Most undisciplined Angels team in years?

Recommended Posts

This game (Friday against the twins 4/26) is  a mess.
this team is a mess.

Trout and adell

ohoppe and Schanuel.

Is this a Washington issue?  Has to be sloppiest play in year.  I get some years in game 150 when they are already out.  Are they going through the motions in game 26?

Remember when people thought it would be different because the Angels released Francisco Mejia in ST, and people thought it was because he didn't try to go after a wild pitch or something?

This team is not undisciplined, it is inexperienced.  Key young players here with little minor league experience.  They are trying to learn on the go, and the coaching staff is appropriate for the job.  I think many of you are used to seeing free agents filter in to the team over the years.  Unfortunately many of those guys failed.  We have not even finished the first month of a six month season.  Many of you wanted to rebuild, this is what happens as you do so.  Mistakes are going to happen.

Thanks, Tom, for posting this. Lost in all of griping is this young crew is learning to play together as a team and not a bunch of individuals making individual plays. This is, as you say, what a rebuild looks like. I'm not enjoying the losing but definitely enjoy watching the kids play and learn.

They've been one of the most fundamentally unsound teams for many years now. It's a broader organizational issue.

Just keep singing that same tune and ignore how most of the team were mercenaries the last five years. This is what homegrown young talent looks like, for every team. Then they become last year's Rangers or the Astros after their 7 year rebuild.

Does this include Suarez?

If Moreno allows the true rebuild to proceed and trade off enough of the remaining players with just 1-2 years left to FA after 2024, like he should have with Ohtani after 2022.

It’s been like forever since they did a true rebuild.    This is a partial one at this point.

True rebuilds worked for Houston and Baltimore.   Of course, they had good scouting and development.

I disagree. There are only two guys that lack experience and that's Neto and Nolan Schanuel. Everyone else has had plenty of MLB/MiLB experience.
I would add O'Hoppe, but he's been playing well.

This team has a massive amount of vets like Trout, Drury, Hicks, Sano, Estevez, Moore, Cimber, Garcia, Cisnero, Strickland, Adrianza, Rendon and Anderson.

Between the vets and the rest of the team there should be no excuse to being inexperienced.

All we are watching is a poorly built team. That's all.

Pitching fixes many things and we aint got it. Haven't had a good pitching staff for many years, Arte. For starters, Arte, get off your high horse and get Bauer, you idiot.

Exactly right!

Angels offense B

Defense  C+

Pitching D+

We need a number 1 starter. We have 3 number 4s and 3 number 5s. Can't make playoffs with our pitching staff. We could clean up the defense and hit a little better (Trout finds it) but it won't matter without acquiring SP.
