Fully expect Baltimore to be contenders next year. Their entire offense was injured last season. Ozzie is one of the better GM's in the NFL and will have the luxury of picking early in this years draft.

Excited about the draft coming up in one week.  With the Rams and Eagles trading up to take QB's most likely, that essentially gives the Chargers the #1 pick in the draft for 95% of the NFL.  I would love to trade down (but only a little) and pick up some additional draft assets.  Dallas is rumored to really want Jalen Ramsey.  Maybe the Ravens or Jags would like to move up.  I'd be fine with Buckner, Bosa, Ramsey, Tunsil or Jack.  Could slide down as far as #7 to the 49ers spot and still feel really comfortable with the player added.  Thoughts?

I would either take Bosa at 3, or trade down for a 2nd and a 3rd and take Conklin, who I think will be a better Pro than Tunsil.

I like Buckner more than Bosa but wouldn't cry over either.  Best case would be to slide to 4-6 (maybe 7).

That is horrible at the 3rd spot. If you're going to take Stanley, you better trade back to do that. I hope that is a smokescreen in an attempt to get a team interested in him to move up in fear the Chargers are going to take him or something.

Chargers select Hunter Henry, TE from Arkansas.

I like the pick a lot. He's a very solid run blocker which should help out our horrible run blocking. Solid route runner. NFL.com has him comparable to Jason Witten. If he can meet half of that potential, I'll be thrilled.

Outside of maybe Jacksonville, I don't think many teams had a better draft than us. I love the 5th round pick of Jatavis Brown. TT said that Brown has the capabilities of playing safety, as well. That is an amazing value pick in the 5th round. I also like drafting Derek Watt. He blocked for Melvin at Wisconsin. I'm loving what Ken Wisenhunt is doing here by attempting to establish a power run game. 

 

I love the pick of Hunter Henry, too. He didn't drop a single pass all of last season.

As I've stated before, I would have made a few adjustments but am very pleased with this draft.  The Joshua Perry pick is an awesome fourth round value as well.  Being able to cut Mike Scifres due to drafting his replacement in the 6th and saving $$$ is extremely valuable.  We have $13 million of cap space still in case someone gets cut that we could use.

As much as I like seeing the Chargers make the news for the wrong reasons while disappointing their fans I'm 100% on their side on this.  I'm not sure what Bosa expected given the agreement that's been in place for 5 years now which puts a scale/cap on rookie contracts.  It'll be interesting to see if he doesn't sign and ends up back in next years draft because I don't see some team giving him much more than what San Diego has offered.
