Uh…anyone want to break the news to this guy?

Well, they still haven't won a ring in a full season since 88. Nobody likes being that guy to call it a cheap ring ... it certainly counts, but it's hardly the same thing.

A big reason the World Series is such an accomplishment is that teams have to overcome the fatigue and injuries associated with the 162 game season, then survive the postseason and it's usual short series madness. Beyond that the level of competition was also weaker, teams didn't play outside of their divisions in the regular season, the travel was easier and there were neutral sites in the postseason.

Look at the Dodgers rotation that year, they had all their usual ouchie boys, (Gonsolin, May, Buehler, Kershaw, Urias), plus Alex Woods healthy and available to pitch, this year....just Kershaw.

If 2023 had been a 60 game season the Phillies miss the playoffs and instead of Harper's heroics fans get to see the Pirates, while in the AL the Yankees get in... Also, Howie Kendrick never gets to be a WS hero had that been a 60 game season that year -- who didn't love seeing that??

All one needs to see how Dodger fans really feel about that season is to utter, "yeah but 60 games".  (Tactical body armor is available to civilians online and at select sporting goods stores throughout Southern CA). If you doubt for a second they know it's not the same, ask yourselves what MLB fans across baseball (particularly Dodger fans), would say if the 2002 season had been 60 games.  There were people (Dodger fans), that called it a bogus title because "they didn't even win their division."

The best thing about the 2020 Dodgers is that their fans will always have to hear "yeah but" and they hate it ... I low key love that they won it all that year.

Oh I completely agree that it’s an asterisk World Series, but just like bonds and his oversized head, it still happened. Plus as a lakers fan…they won in the bubble too lol!

Yes because pictures of fans mean that the players on the field are also cardboard cut outs…makes sense. Had the angels won, I’m sure none of us would be upset about it.

We’d really be made fun of if we won that Covid ring
