Lackey has dropped a noticeable amount of weight. That coupled with him getting surgery for an injury and letting it heal, would explain the uptick in velocity. smh

He did.  In fact, after looking it up, Lackey's velocity has been insanely consistent over the years.  Every year since 2007, he shows an avg of 91.1-91.6, and topping out at 95.2-96.    This year?   91.4/95.5.
