December 6, 1960 became a fan. December 14, 1960 expansion draft. Everyone knows first player picked in that expansion draft. Who knows last player picked. He became a good player for Angels. He actually called Angels and wanted halos to pick him. In the expansion draft 2 players drafted ended up becoming Angel managers. One pitcher drafted by halos became a Cy Young winner for them. The good ole days my first team to really follow.

Fregosi and Buck Rogers were the managers, Dean Chance was the Cy Young, I have no idea who the first and last players picked were.

Fan since 1971. I started with box scores and continue to this day. One story I read about -- it happened a little before my time-- was in the Angels' first year, 1961. Gene Autry was owner and talked his old friend Ty Cobb to throw out the first ball in Angels' history. Cobb, who died several months later in July '61, was a very sick and frail old man by then. The Angels' player (not sure who) who was supposed to catch the ball noticed how frail Cobb was, so he moved up to give him an easier target. So what did Cobb do? He heaved it over the guys' head!

I think Cobb was a Dodger fan because he left in 5th inn of that game.

I moved to California in 1977 and went to games that year and got hooked.

1979 was a blast and ultimately losing wasn’t that hard since going to the postseason was new ground.

1982 was tough.  Went ti games here.  So fun.  Then felt like I got beat up.

1986 I was at all the games and I had WS tickets in my hand and had to get my refund.  Ouch.
