Is there any chance Arte would reach into the luxury tax to sign Aaron Judge?

I’m going to start off by saying that I did not make this thread to advocate for doing this, nor do I think it is a move that will happen.  Just thought it was worth discussion.

I imagine priority #1 for both Arte and Minasian this offseason is to get Ohtani signed on a long term extension, and if it happens, the team is going to have quite a bit of payroll committed to 3 players, which already does not give the front office much room if the budget stays stagnant.  I do believe Aaron Judge is the exact type of player Arte would love to have though, and it makes me wonder if, after what looks to be another failed season, he would finally consider dipping into the tax threshold.  Boasting a big 3 of Trout, Ohtani, and Judge may be too enticing to pass up on.

Not sure that this is something I want to do, but does anyone else think this could be a possibility?

Just pay Ohtani

Ohtani and Trout and go find some average hitters in other spots.  Not guys who suck.

He won't have to do it, when Trout and Ohtani asked to be traded to New York for him it will be a done deal.  Then Minasian will have that smug little look on his face thinking it was a smart move.

Just think about all the great threads:

- The Halos are still sentenced to X more years with this terrible contract.

- We’re now wasting Judge and Ohtani’s best years as Trout is in his twilight.

- Vernon Wells was never this bad.

- How long before Judge is DFA’d?

- SLudge SKUS!
