Last year a seemingly minor injury led to missing the season. So you never know where this will lead.

That said, a groin injury affects all facets of play. And over compensating or playing through it if not healed can make things worse. Or create new problems.

Depends upon how bad the strain is - we still don't know what grade of a strain, or if it is a strain at all and not just "tightness." Hopefully not grade 3, which would mean he needs surgery and is out for the year. Grade 2 would probably be 4-6 weeks, and grade 1 maybe a week or two.

On the other hand, Trout had a groin injury in April of 2019 and only missed 3 games. So we're talking anywhere from a few days to a month or more.
