Gameday Thread: Mariners @ Angels (6/5/2021): Ohtani DHing, J. Iglesias back & hitting cleanup

Recommended Posts

Alex Cobb retired the first 18 hitters of the game in order. A misplay by Ward along with missed should-be strikeouts in the 4th got 5 runs scoring against him. After the grandslam (on a splitter off the plate) he continued his dominance and set down the next 11 hitters in a row, giving a big middle finger to a lot of people posting here earlier.

Yeah, he definitely pitched a lot better than the run total would lead you to believe. When his fastball command is on and his splitter has good bite he’s really good.

Prior to the Angels regaining the lead, they were unable to win back to back games. Fuck off with your hindsight bullshit

lol

We won back-to-back games last weekend vs Oakland.

Pathetic attitude

Can I give myself a troll reaction?

Cobb did retire every batter in 7 innings, aside from the 5 baserunners in the 4th.   And only one ball was hit well, by the Francisco Arcia wannabe (2 HRs, 7 rbis in series after doing nothing at the MLB level)

Cobb is certainly doing his job the past month, and Maddon deserves some credit for leaving him in for the 6th and 7th.

Thank you offense for turning it around completely those last 5 innings, and saving Iglesias from coming in after a 2 inning outing.
