Yeah, I don't understand why Maddon replaced Quintana with Slegers.

Righty on righty for Chavis? Maybe, but there was one out, one on in a two run game with Lefty Devers up after Chavis.

So Maddon brings Slegers in and he gives up a 1B and a HR to those guys.

Makes no sense to me.

As soon as I saw that 2nd run come in, I knew Maddon was going to take Quintana out.

He had the bullpen warming up in the 2nd inning. Quintana wasn't even in trouble and yet he could see from the mound Maddon has zero trust in him.

He was pitching well, pounding out strikes and getting weak contact other than the solo home run. Solo home runs don't determine a pitcher is getting shelled, it's a blind squirrel hit when the batters before strike out on pitches in the zone.

He could have pitched into the sixth but Maddon had to fuck with what was actually working well for the Angels. He has pulled Ohtani, Heaney and Canning early and those games went to shit as well. I don't understand his reasoning but I can't see any of these guys wanting to stay if Maddon does.
