I hate the dodgers more than Auroa Vargas. Dodgers young with one of best farm systems in baseball. They have 3 aces top of rotation and 4th and 5th better than our 1 and 2. Hate to be in that division.

He is getting good results, but the Statcast data on him did show his stuff is indeed down.  Maybe he doesn't need to have that pitch velocity to be successful, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

Granted it is a small sample size, but the Statcast appearances he has had this spring, his FB and cutter velocities are both below what his average velocity was last year by a decent amount.  Again, perhaps he does not need that velocity, but it is nevertheless something to keep an eye on.

Could Iglesias, Mayers, C-Rod and Slegers and Cishek be our 2002 bullpen version of Percival, Shields, K-Rod, Donnelly and Weber?

He did only throw one 4-seamer last night.

His main pitches are the cutter and slider anyway.   If he locates the cutter well enough and throws just enough located sliders, velocity isn’t a huge concern.   Was it for Mo Rivera?

I don't think the velocity in of itself is a concern, but if there is a significant velocity decline of all pitches across the board, it could be indicative of a potential arm issue or, perhaps, be a recipe for an imminent decline.  

But that said, I did qualify it and say perhaps he doesn't need the velocity to be just as effective.  All that matters are the results, not what the Statcast says.
