Luke Bard reminds me of some of the guys we've trotted out year after year hoping they'll turn it around and become quality relievers. Like Taylor Cole, who once followed up a multi-run effort by saying he has one of the best changeups in the game.

I'd imagine that Luke Bard gets DFA'd by the end of the month. He's gotta be either the 39th or 40th man on the 40-man roster right now. Sucks that he blew the game, but I don't expect him to pitch in the majors that much (if at all) this season.

5 innings reminds me of my co-ed softball where it's either that or you only get 1 hour of field time. Whichever comes first.

With 5 innings being a game, Heaney has a shot at a complete game.  Nothing wrong with that.

They are a blessing from God!

Seriously, it’s just because there are no minor leaguers around and they often filled some of the late innings. 
 

Honestly I’ve thought for years there is no reason to play 9 inning games in spring training.

I felt the opposite. So many Angels rosters came out of spring training without playing a complete 9 innings then flopped the first month of the season. The over use of prospects has always seemed like why they never seemed prepared to start the season at full throttle.

He likely survived on the 40-man roster because Eppler loved him. Now that Minasian is, like I said above, I think he'll be off it by the end of the month.
