My guess is it has to do with minor league spring training being held offsite but I could be wrong.

I haven't seen that mentioned--but from what I have read, it's still not entirely clear.  Most articles say it has to do with giving managers added "flexibility" coming off of a shortened season.  Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  Still seems like, if anything, you'd actually want to get in as many innings as possible to see where guys stand, how they've developed in real game situations, etc.

Not gonna lie, I haven't been in the baseball mood yet this year, which is odd because I generally count down the days until Spring Training most years, but me thinks I should sit down with some scotch and catch today's (5 inning) game.

 

Maybe try to regain that "Lovin' feeling" back lol

Challenge: Drink the same amount of scotch in 5 innings as you would in a 9 inning game.
