Alexander Ramirez shows exactly how he's been described so far. Athletic frame and motions. Above average runner, with plus pop and decent pitch recognition. But his swing is too long.

Vera, I'm just not convinced either of his swings work in their current iteration. The timing is off, too big of a step, useless bat waggle. He certainly features ideal size, athleticism and plate discipline to advance, but he looks very raw to me and needs a major overhaul in his in-game swing.

Best news is, plenty of time to work with 18 year-olds.

On today's BA Prospect Hotlist, Yan cracks the list.

Looking like a good relief option in the future.

19. Hector Yan, LHP, Angels
Team: High-A Tri-City (West)
Age: 22

Why He’s Here: 1-0, 0.00, 1 G, 4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 11 SO

The Scoop: Yan posted a career-best 4.3 walks per nine innings at Low-A Burlington in 2019, but he’s taken a step back this year in the strike-throwing department, with 43 through his first 68.1 innings, leading to a move to the bullpen. He’s pitched at least 3.1 innings in each of his three relief appearances while utilizing his four-pitch mix. He dominated in his latest appearance, striking out 11 and walking four over 4.2 innings in relief to earn his third win of the season. Yan induced 19 swings and misses. (CHT)

Tell us what we need to know about Ortega.

He's a Libra, he likes long walks on the beach, and his favorite color is magenta.

Also throws hard, can touch 98, has a CB that comes and goes but is very good when its on -- his best put-away pitch probably long term.  He also has a changeup that's pretty awful most of the time.
