Yes.  Because things other than throwing a baseball 96 could cause the same level of pain so might as well have some other surgery that will end his baseball career at age 24.

Verlander leaves start early, will undergo 'some testing'

 

The Houston Astros were given some reason for concern on Sunday when right-hander Justin Verlander left a start against the New York Mets two innings earlier than expected.

Verlander exited following two innings of work on a day when manager Dusty Baker expected him to pitch four, and the ace wouldn't speak to reporters about why he left the game early.

A team spokesperson told reporters Verlander is "going to get some testing done," and Baker would provide an update postgame, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart.

The 37-year-old dealt with a groin issue earlier in camp, but said last Tuesday he felt it was behind him, McTaggart adds.

Astros will bye much worse this year, on top of the cheating stuff, they have a lot of miles on their bodies after the extra playoff games. Angels will win the division.
