You can totally see a potential reunion if he can actually prove to be healthy...   It's not like they didn't try to keep him when he signed with SD.

Yup. I still think I would’ve dealt Adell and Canning for him that winter, but neither probably had the buzz yet to make it happen. He would have fit RF perfectly next to Trout, and ahead of him in the order. 

Miami seemingly didn’t get much in that deal.

In hindsight, no, it wasn’t nearly enough. The only one who looks like he can stick is Jordan Yamamoto. Maybe the OF, Harrison. But he and the other position players don’t look like they will hit enough.

It was more important to sign Rendon now and keep Adell, then to acquire Yelich and give up Adell and Canning.    3B are harder to find than OFers.   Just ask the Halos, post-Troy Glaus.
