Augusta is perfect for X-man.   As mentioned earlier, it rewards accuracy, right up his alley.

matsuyama in trouble off the tee on #1. had to punch out of the trees to find the fairway and now has a very lengthy putt through the clowns mouth to save par.

zalatoris gives one back and is now at -8 through 5 holes.

matsuyama gets one back and returns to -11 through 4.

finau just hit this ridiculous punch shot from the rough that skipped through a bunker and ended up about 3 feet from the cup.

one of the fun things about augusta is knowing how to use the terrain on your shots. i remember tiger playing practice rounds with jack and arnie early on, and one of them things they taught him was where to miss shots as well as when to go for it.

i wish i could play this course. heck, i wish i could just walk the course.

Rahm on fire today, -6 today and for the tourney, tied for 3rd after starting the day 21st.

X-man, not so much, after birdie on 2nd hole to go -8, +4 on the next 3 holes

X-man battles back to -6 (tied for 3rd with Rahm and Rose) with back-to-back birdies on 7 and 8.

Matsuyama and Zalatoris are a ways out in front though at -12 and -9.
